BC Quote is a referral service that helps homeowners and property owners connect with an independent home-service contractor. This policy explains what information we collect through BCQuote.ca, why we use it, and how it may be shared.
1. Information you provide
When you submit a quote request, we may collect your name, phone number, email address if provided, city, postal code if provided, roofing need, project timing, project description, and any other information you choose to provide.
Please do not send government identification, financial account information, payment-card information, or other sensitive information through the quote form.
2. Information collected automatically
Our hosting, security, analytics, advertising or form-processing providers may collect technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, and approximate location. If analytics or advertising tools are enabled, cookies or similar technologies may also be used to measure site and advertising performance.
3. Why we use information
- To review and process your quote request.
- To route your request to one roofing contractor that serves your area and is a sensible fit for the project type.
- To allow that contractor to contact you about the project.
- To prevent spam, maintain site security, and troubleshoot the service.
- To measure and improve website and advertising performance.
4. Sharing with a matched contractor
BC Quote uses a one-contractor-per-request model. We may share the information you submit with one roofing contractor serving the relevant area so that contractor can respond to your request. We do not send the same homeowner request to a list of roofing companies.
Once a contractor receives your information, that independent business is responsible for how it stores and uses the information in its own systems.
5. Contact consent
When you submit a request and check the consent box, you agree that BC Quote may share the request with one roofing contractor receiving your request and that the contractor may contact you by phone, text message or email about that project. You may withdraw consent at any time by telling BC Quote or the contractor that you no longer wish to be contacted.
6. Service providers
Our website is hosted on Netlify. Quote and contact form submissions may be processed and stored through Netlify Forms, and BC Quote may configure email notifications so we are alerted when a form is submitted.
BC Quote may use third-party providers for hosting, form processing, security, analytics, advertising, call tracking, email delivery or other technical services. These providers may process information as needed to provide their services.
7. Retention and security
We aim to keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy and to use safeguards appropriate to the information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access or correct personal information under our control, ask how it has been used or shared, withdraw consent, or request deletion where appropriate.
9. Children
BC Quote is intended for adults seeking services for a property and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek personal information from minors.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as BC Quote's services, technology or legal obligations change. The latest update date will appear at the top of this page.
